Maria Shvachko studied marketing, finding her passion in design where she can make visuals that bring ideas to life. She has been working in design since 2018 as a designer for magazines, creating complete layouts. Maria creates branding, printed and digital banners, social media posts, merch, as well as packaging and logos. She also has extensive experience with print production.

In her free time she likes drawing, hiking, and spending cozy evenings with friends playing board games. She also has a black cat who often keeps her company while she works.

Emel Yarimoglu has been working in academia for over 20 years. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Master’s degree in Marketing, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration from Dokuz Eylul University. 

She worked at Yasar University in various administrative and academic positions. Yarimoglu became an Assistant Professor in 2012, Associate Professor in 2017, and a Full Professor of Marketing in 2023. She worked at Comenius University in Bratislava as a Visiting Scholar. 

Yarimoglu has over 50 scientific papers published in both indexed journals and reputable academic publishers. She serves as a reviewer, editorial board member, and editor in academic journals. She has led conferences in the fields of business and marketing and still serves as a reviewer, scientific committee member, and track chair at prestigious conferences. 

Her main research interests consist of customer satisfaction and loyalty, intentions, service quality, sustainable food consumption, and environmentally friendly consumer behaviors.

Galina Kiryushina holds a Ph.D. in English Philology from Charles University Prague, where she also worked as Research Assistant at the Department of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures.

Her most recent publications have examined cinematic and televisual legacies in Samuel Beckett’s writing, with a focus on his late prose. Her work has appeared in academic journals and essay collections, including in Samuel Beckett Today/Aujourd’hui, the Journal of Beckett Studies, Beckett and Modernism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018), and Samuel Beckett and Technology (Edinburgh UP, 2021), which she also co-edited with Einat Adar and Mark Nixon. Her current research focuses on Beckett’s collaborations, in particular with the German television broadcaster Süddeutscher Rundfunk (SDR/SWR).

Gabriela Málková is the founder and director of the AAU Institute of Applied Psychology and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Anglo-American University in Prague. She earned her PhD in Educational Psychology at Charles University and, since 2002, has pursued an academic and research career at its Faculty of Humanities and Faculty of Education, later serving as Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Humanities. Her research focuses on literacy development, early language and phonological skills, and their role in reading and spelling acquisition across languages, with a strong interest in advancing applied research that bridges theory and practice.

She has developed and co-developed several diagnostic and intervention tools widely used in Czech educational and counselling practice and has contributed to many national and international research projects, including the Multilingual Assessment Battery of Early Literacy (MABEL) (www.eldel-mabel.net). She is a member of the International Society for Scientific Studies of Reading and a founding member of the European Literacy Network. Alongside her research, she has extensive experience in lifelong learning programs for professionals in psychology, counselling, and speech therapy, and is dedicated to mentoring students and early career researchers.

Originally from Michigan, USA, Alexa has called the Czech Republic home for nearly a decade. Her global perspective is shaped by years spent living not only in the United States and the Czech Republic, but also in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Spain.

Since 2019, Alexa has been dedicated to the field of international education and student recruitment. Daniela Monsportová is a PhD candidate in International Relations at Charles University, where she also completed her master’s degree in Security Studies. As part of her academic training, she spent time at Högskolan Dalarna in Falun, Sweden, and has lived abroad for extended periods, including in the People’s Republic of China and Germany.

Since 2024, she has been teaching a course on International Organizations at Anglo-American University in Prague. She collaborates regularly with regional think tanks and NGOs, including the Forum 2000 Foundation, and has contributed a series of analytical articles to the Center for Security Analyses and Prevention.

Zach is the School Coordinator for the School of International Relations and Diplomacy and is always available to help. Zach is an AAU alumni who graduated with his B.A. in International Relations and is currently completing a master’s degree at Charles University in International Relations.

As the SIRD School Coordinator, Zach works with exchange and transfer students by assisting with any of their needs in the office, but he is also available to help degree seeking students as well.
