Neada is an Albanian lawyer, researcher, and academic with 21 years of experience in the legal field. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Tirana, as well as Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics and Agricultural Policies from the Agricultural University of Tirana. She also earned an LL.M. in International Business Law from Central European University (then based in Budapest).

Additionally, Neada holds a Certificate of Excellence in Teaching in Higher Education from the Yehuda Elkana Center at Central European University and recently completed a two-year fellowship in writing-based teaching and learning methods with the Institute for Writing and Thinking at Bard College, New York.

She is the author of the Albanian Monograph on Corporations and Partnerships, part of the International Encyclopedia of Laws series published by Kluwer Law International as well as The Influence of Supreme Court Decisions in Shaping Commercial and Human Rights Law in Albania.

Before transitioning to academia, Neada worked as a legal advisor for governmental institutions and private corporations. Her most recent role was as legal advisor to the U.S. Modernization Team attached to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Albania.

At AAU, she teaches International Business Law and Transactions, Business Law, and Legal English.

Hieu Nguyen is from Vietnam. She is currently a 4th year PhD candidate at the Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education (CERGE-EI). She received a Master of Arts in Economics from CERGE-EI in 2022 and graduated with a Master of Science in International Investment and Finance from Bournemouth University in 2016.

Her research interests are mainly in environmental economics and political economics, with a focus on developing countries. She is also eager to conduct research in the fields of development economics and financial economics.

Hieu has some experience working in both academia and various industries, having taught statistics and microeconomics at RMIT University and worked as a financial analyst in a securities company in Vietnam. During her time in Czechia, she also worked as a teaching assistant on several economics courses at CERGE-EI and the Institute of Economic Studies.

David was born and raised in Prague. After completing his Ph.D. in economic theory and history of economic thought he worked as an assistant professor and later department chair at the UEP, Prague. He joined AAU in 2013 as Dean of the School of IRD. Until mid-2020 he served as VP for enrollment management. Since 2020 he holds a regular visiting position at the University of Turin’s economics department.

Zuzana Havránková is a Professor of Economics at Charles University in Prague, Senior Lecturer at Anglo-American University in Prague, and Research Affiliate at the Meta-Research Innovation Center at Stanford. She specializes in labor economics, international economics, and tool development and applications of meta-analysis in economics. Dr. Havránková has published as corresponding author in leading journals, including the Review of Economics and StatisticsJournal of Labor EconomicsNature CommunicationsEuropean Economic Review, and Review of Economic Dynamics, with over 30 peer-reviewed articles to her name. Her work has been cited approximately 4,000 times and recognized in top journals such as Science and the American Economic Review. Her research has had significant real-world impact: her paper on daylight saving time has informed policy debates in the US Congress and European Parliament and has been covered by media outlets such as the New York Times and Der Standard. Nobel laureate Tom Sargent has used her work in his book on dynamic programming. Her studies in macroeconomics and international economics have been referenced in policy materials by the IMF, OECD, World Bank, and European Commission.

Dr. Havránková maintains the website meta-analysis.cz, which provides data and codes for meta-research; a paper forthcoming in JPE Micro is built entirely on this resource. She is Associate Editor for meta-analysis at the Journal of Economic Surveys and has been active in international networks such as the Meta-Analysis of Economics Research Network, collaborating with researchers at institutions including the University of California, Berkeley, University of Canterbury, Christchurch, and Stanford. Her academic achievements have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Katerina Smidkova Award from the Czech Economic Society (for the top Czech female economist), Editor’s Prize for best paper in Experimental Economics in 2024, and prizes from the Czech National Bank, National Bank of Slovakia, Czech Ministry of Education, and Global Development Network. According to RePEc, she ranks among the top 150 female economists worldwide and is currently the most cited Czech female economist.

Jiří has been active in research and teaching since 2009, primarily at the Institute of Economic Studies, Charles University, where he also earned his Ph.D. in Economics. Alongside his academic career, he has gained significant policy experience at the Czech National Bank, serving as advisor to several members of the Bank Board, including the Deputy Governor.

His research focuses on international economics, finance, monetary policy, and institutional economics. He has published in internationally recognized journals such as the Journal of International Economics and the Review of World Economics. According to the Research Papers in Economics (RePEc) ranking, he is among the top 50 Czech economists in terms of publications over the past decade.

From 2023 to 2025, Jiří served as principal investigator of the grant project Survey of Short-Term and Long-Term Inflation Expectations of Czech Households (TQ01000396), funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, with Charles University and the Czech National Bank as co-investigators. He is also a co-investigator on two Czech Science Foundation (GAČR) projects: Disentangling p-hacking from publication bias in finance research (24-11583S, with Charles University as principal investigator) and Understanding Household Responses to Inflation: Insights from Randomized Controlled Trials after High Inflation (25-17769S, with the Czech Academy of Sciences as principal investigator).

Outside of his professional work, Jiří is a father of two young children. In rare quiet moments, he enjoys reading fantasy literature and playing video games.

Heinrich Homola received his Master in Industrial Engineering as Diplom – Wirtschaftsingenieur from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. His international business career spans some 30 years, having worked with multinational corporations as well as with local SME’s and entrepreneurs.

He started his career with Procter & Gamble in marketing in Germany. Later, being bilingual with German and Czech, he was one of P&G’s first managers in Prague after the iron curtain collapsed.  He then switched to cosmetic giant COTY and became General Manager for Czech & Slovak republics, thereafter for The Netherlands, and ultimately for the whole German speaking DACH region. After Coty, he joined German C.O.P. East Consult as Managing Partner and built up their interim management practice, with Polish Telekom ERA and German Tchibo being his key stages. The Czech Republic lured him back again as CEO for Vitana, one of the country’s biggest food corporations. Thereafter, he started his own business as contract manager, coach & mentor, and helped, amongst others, to set up Prague’s Musée Grévin, Jansen Display and GS Pharmaceuticals.

In parallel, Heinrich has been lecturing for many years at various business universities and mentoring very successfully student companies with the Junior Achievement organization. Last not least, he served and serves on various Advisory Boards.
